I am currently the Director of Resident Experience at Sidewalk Labs, Google’s urban design and tech start-up.  In my role I am responsible for leading the vision and future experiences of residents with a key focus on home-life and the micro neighborhood that serves as an extension of home. In addition to my core role I am launching the strategy and visual design system for a future brand that will grow as we continue to design new concepts for future-focused urban cities.

I can design and run research from broad opportunity discovery to usability testing. I do lots of strategy writing, journey mapping and product definition to advance design briefs. I also direct all disciplines of creative through the kaleidoscope of business, brand, and behavior. I’ve produced my fair share of experience strategies and product designs for world class lifestyle brands including Nike, Google, Disney, Marriott, and Samsung.

My work portfolio includes solutions within hospitality, healthcare, retail, and product customization.  For the past few years I’ve been focusing on challenges inside high-density urban cities and the experience within multi-family homes. I continue to study dimensions of membership, privacy, utility of space, storage and transformation of the physical structures inside urban dwellings.

I went to graduate school for psychology. I wish I had gone for design. I never had a desire to go to business school, although I respect the hell out of an iron clad business model that supports a user experience. I’ll take consumer facing work over backend system design any day of the week.

Prior to Sidewalk Labs, I was the Head of Experience Strategy at R/GA. In that role I was responsible for developing the broader practice across the agency and shifting work from design production to behavior-driven design challenges that framed up business opportunities, uncovered unmet consumer needs and translated those into impactful product and service designs. I worked across multiple service-based brands with specific dedication to Nike’s retail and digital brand organizations.

Over the past 15 years, I have held senior positions across innovation, design, strategy, and organizational development. I have extensive experience leading front-end innovation projects and have created products and services for major brands including: Nike, PepsiCo, Sanofi, IHG, Perfetti, Uber, Google, Disney, and Marriott International. My design solutions cross the spectrum of space/environment, consumer services, package design, digital retail, and enterprise platforms.

In 2005, I earned my Ph.D. in Organizational Psychology and continue to speak on topics of innovation and design methodology for senior executives at Marriott Int. and students at both The Stern School of Business at NYU and The School of Design at Parsons New School. I'm originally from Los Angeles and now happily
reside in New York City.
